We praise God for your marvelous ministry that you chose to do through us during this pandemic. You are being a blessing to many!  We give all glory to Je*** for He has strengthened us to be a blessing to share His love to the people in and around our area.

DAY CARE MINSISTRY: Due to this pandemic our day care center has been shut since April. But we were able to provide provisions, sanitizers, masks to the kids family’s those who are in need. Also we were able to meet in person there family and console them and counsel those kids family by the grace of God.

CHURCH MINISTRY: This year I was able to share the word of God in various churches and online services during the pandemic. Counseling church believer’s families took place. Also we had the opportunity to encourage youth groups. That was a blessing to us and to them too. Seeing the kingdom of God build through this young generation was a splendid moment of accomplishment. We praise God for His work through us.

GYPSY FAMILY MINISTRY: We continue our ministry and church planting efforts to the gypsy camp. Around 50 gypsy families were blessed by God’s grace with the necessary groceries. Praise the Lord! Some of these families joined us in church service. Like this, God continues to add to His number.  During the Christmas celebration, they were part of our church fellowship and sang Christian songs which filled them with immense joy and wonder.

COVID 19 RELIEF WORK: By His true blessed grace we were able provide groceries to widows, gypsy family’s, day care kids family’s around 200 we were able to help. Also for this Christmas, we were able to share the birth of Christ who is a symbol of love by helping 40 poor underprivileged families with necessary house hold provisions. And for 10 widows sarees and for the daycare kids small gifts cake we were able to share . We hope that this kind help would impact a great changes in their lives.

All this are possible because of your generous support and encouragement that strengthened us to share vividly the love of Christ to others. We thank you from the bottom of our heart and we bless that you’ll be a blessing to many in this new year 2021.

Tommy & Sonya Bitner met Sundar and Ida twenty years ago when they first started leading the only Tamil speaking YWAM Discipleship Training School in India.

It is strategically located amongst the farmers to reach and train those who are being overlooked by not living in the city. We have worked alongside this couple for years. Their vision is to know God and make Him known to all people. They have a wonderful ministry and family!

Purpose
The purpose of the Discipleship Training School (DTS) is to make disciples. People whose lifestyles reflect their close relationship with Jesus. The goal is to strengthen individuals in their relationship with God and to equip them to share the good news of Jesus Christ with others throughout the world, with an emphasis on reaching the unreached people groups in Tamil Nadu, India and all over the world.

Length of SchoolDTS Grad
The DTS runs for five months (20 weeks), consisting of a 10 week lecture phase and then a 10 week outreach phase.

Lecture Phase – Course Content

  • Knowing God – His Character, His ways, His guidance.
  • Your relationship with God – Worship, Quiet times, maintaining a clear conscience
  • Your relationship with others – Relating to parents and others in authority, male/female relationships, forgiving others.
  • Spiritual Warfare and Intercession – Knowing your enemy, the power of God through prayer
  • Missions – Knowing your responsibility, learning to communicate your faith effectively.
    Outreach phase

During the outreach, opportunities are given for reaching out to people and for serving in practical ways. The outreaches are conducted in various other locations in India.

Missions opportunities after the DTS
Should you sense that God is calling you into missions, YWAM India has many opportunities for involvement in both active and support ministries. People with practical skills such as book keepers, cooks, secretaries, primary school teachers, mechanics and construction workers are essential for the existence and success of the centre. Other areas of ministry include mercy ministries, city outreach, and church and school ministry.

Qualifications to enroll in the DTS

  • Be a true Christian
  • Have the desire to grow spiritually
  • Expect God to work in and through your life
  • Be over 18 years-old

School location – YWAM Paddapi Centre

LOCATION

The Tamil Discipleship-Training-School is located at the YWAM Padappai centre, approximately 40 km southwest of Chennai. The center is focused on equipping Tamil believers to be disciples, so that the local church is built up, existing ministries gain new workers, and so that new ministries are started in Tamil Nadu and among Tamil speaking people around the world.

Daycare, After School Program, and Housing Project.

The Daycare ministry helps the poor parents keep their child and allow both parents to work instead of dropping their child off at an orphanage—which is very common in India. This is really helping us in sharing God’s love.

The After School Program is to help kids with homework that we are hosting. We
have a very good reputation in the community with helping the children achieve higher marks and better education.

Since the increase in strength of both programs. The present place is not large enough for all of us to fit.

God has helped us to start building a house in Gandhi Nagar with a li6666ttle support from few friends and small savings of ours.

God has helped us to complete roofing.

Still we need 3 lakh rupees (approx $5,000 USD) for painting /flooring /Windows and doors work /electric work to be done. Please pray and see if God is calling you to join this project.
