Church Planting & Ministering to the Poor
Undisclosed location Area of Malaysia

Greetings from Malaysia. God is calling us to reach the rejected Tamil speaking Hindu people living in object poverty and the unreached and unengaged group of Tamil Muslims with the love of our Savior Jesus. Our island has 35,000 Malaysian Indian Hindus with a 0.01% Christian population and 285,000 Unreached and Unengaged People Group (UUPG) of Indian Muslims. Because of the Muslim persecution, the Tamil Muslims are without a Christian witness.

Our goal in 2021 is to plant the first church for the Tamil Muslims. Because of the persecution, this is an overwhelming goal. We are going to train leaders to do good works, manage and conduct prayer stations, run Bible distribution events, and direct and perform evangelism efforts among the Muslims. When the ground is tilled and ready for seed, we will be to present “The Straight Path” using select biblical references in the Quran as we teach our chronological Bible lessons

With the Tamil Hindus, we let our Christian light shine by living the Letter of James to the poor, the widows, and the orphans. We are constantly feeding the homeless. We would like to one day build a refuge home for them. We are helping the orphans attend school by buying uniforms and school materials. If they are not educated, they have no hope of surviving here. Our outreach to the Tamil homeless Hindus is never ending. We supply food, like rice, cooking oil and doll on an ongoing basis.

The lack of economic opportunities have created so many problems for our people. In 2021, we want to help our new church members start small businesses like selling vegetables, open salon shops, and corner stores. Our welfare program is for those who need medical help. The drug addicts and those who are involved in gangsterism in never ending. The harsh Covid lockdown has greatly affected this ministry as well as our counseling center but we are believing God’s will for 2021.

Recently we reached out to M*** who is a 23 year old man. His parents are well educated. They are one of the few working in a company job. But M*** does not have hope. He does not want to go to college. He became addicted to drugs. He lost his job and became a drug seller. One day, early in the morning, he went to sell drugs. He had an accident which caused some serious medical problems. Now he is at home. His mother called me to pray for him and to come talk to him. By the grace of God, we counseled him. He received our instruction in the Lord. Praise God! He needs much help but he is getting better. We are planning to send him to a center to help him with his drug addiction. Please pray for him

Covid lockdowns affected our ability for evangelism, distributing the Bible in three languages, and the disciple training. We are continuing to study the Bible chronologically focusing on the blood of the lamb from Genesis to Revelation with a strong emphasis on evangelism.

Even though we are lockdown, three days a week, we secretly help many with food ingredients, kitchen items, and vouchers to the families who lost their jobs because of the pandemic. Through our feeding center, we are taking care of the widows, poor, and needy. We give out food through this center. Recently, we met thirty families and shared the love of Christ. Two adults accepted Christ and were baptized. In a different home, An***, who is 92 years old, has her son who is a cancer patient and a daughter living with her. We were able to help buy kitchen items for them during this difficult time. An*** continues to believe and not give up her faith in Jesus.

We have been able to lead six care groups in various places. Each group has 8-10 people gathering in the evening time. We are using Tommy Bitner’s 5 Teaching Modules like we did in India. People are excited and are getting more information on how to lead a group. They are getting more interested in doing evangelism.

We will continue to use Tommy Bitner’s evangelism training methods with the story of forgiveness from creation to the end with the “straight path” to train people to reach out to the Tamil Muslim population.

Before moving here to plant churches, we started a church in India. We continue to oversee this church and do evangelism trips to this area. The caste system is still causing us great problems but God is moving mightily. We have five new families. Thirty children are attending. We are planning to build one more church in my own village. Please pray for that.
