Personality
In this section of S.H.A.P.E. you will discover your personality type.
Knowing your personality type can help you in every relationship that you encounter. Personality analysis tends to categorize people into one of four main types. Of course, there are several combinations of those four types, making us unique in our own way. Nevertheless, each personality type seems to come from one dominant personality type that characterizes us most accurately.
Each personality has strengths and weaknesses. The more you know about your personality, the better you will be able to handle personality conflicts. One of the most important qualities in a leader is to be able to control his or her emotions. A good way to learn to control your emotions is to get to know yourself, your personality, and what makes you respond the way you do. Some great books to read after taking this assessment are The DNA of Relationships and The DNA of Relationships for Couples by Greg Smalley.
It is important to mention that we must never excuse our bad behavior, or someone else’s bad behavior, because of personality. God always looks at the heart. (1 Samuel 16:7) Additionally, every believer is required to bear the fruit of the Spirit regardless of their personality. (Galatian 5:22-24)
Lastly, God wants all believers to overcome any weaknesses in our personality: “Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.” (Romans 12:2)
